Forgiver or Prisoner

The act of forgiving is hard for some of us, but you don't know what forgiveness is until its all you have left. What I mean by that is that you can't live with that feeling forever. When I think of forgiveness I think of the mistakes we all make as humans and the feeling of guilt that we encounter by feeling that way. A situation where a man bombs a federal building, causing the deaths of hundreds of innocent people. Wow, that is a tough situation, especially for family members but the simple fact that we aren't God brings relief to those who live repented of their mistake. I forgive because I have been forgived for my mistakes. To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.

  1. Wow. This is really deep. I like your comment "you don't know what forgiveness is until it's all you have left." Do you think the bomber felt this way after he was taken to jail? It is hard to feel bad for someone who has made so many suffer, but when you put it in the perspective that he has nothing else to live for it makes it a little easier.

  2. Yes, your right and I do believe he felt that way of course if he has a conscience left.
